Our Home Renovation Journey - Renovation Update I

One week into renovation and all the works are going as scheduled! πŸ˜„
     ✔ Hacking works --- COMPLETED
✔ Gas piping works --- COMPLETED
✔ Gas heater installation --- COMPLETED
     ✔ Electrical works --- ONGOING
     ✔ Tiling works --- ONGOING

There are lots of electrical wiring coming out from the ceiling and walls. It looks pretty messy  everywhere. πŸ˜‚ The contractors screed the walls over the existing tiles. The windows between the kitchen and service yard were removed was sealed up too, so that it looks like a normal wall. The windows would be unsightly and pretty useless since we would be installing windows in the service yard.

The kitchen cement base was also constructed already. Initially our ID proposed to have the base made of carpentry as he said that nowadays people dont splash water to wash the kitchen floor anymore. However, since we will be cooking often, we felt that having the cement base was safer as carpentry may get damaged over time when in contact with the wet mop, so we opted for the cement base with the front and sides laid with the floor tiles.

Tiling works started yesterday. We went over after work, surprised to see that the tiling works for the living area and walkway to the rooms were almost done! 😍 Though most of the areas that was done were covered up with cardboard but I am loving the look and feel of  the house already! Thank god husband found these tiles! πŸ‘πŸ˜˜

Our ID placed samples of the tiles to be used for the master bathroom and the 3D drawing outside so that the tilers can follow. I really love the feature tile to be placed behind the sink. I think it will give off the hotel bathroom vibes together with the LED lights under the mirror frame. 😍 I do hope that the mosaic tiles will look good for the shower area. Keeping my fingers crossed on that... πŸ™ The tilers have already screed the walls of the bathrooms. Hopefully we can see the tiling of the master bathroom soon!
