Visit to the Urgent O&G Clinic

Just as we were so happy, being able to see our precious little one through the ultrsound yesterday with the flicker of his/her heart making us melt instantly, I experienced spotting this afternoon. There was pinkish discharge, relatively small amounts that lasted for maybe an hour or so. Really gave me a bad scare as I was at work. I immediately tried to check on google. Although it was said to be pretty common due to implantation bleeding or sexual intercourse, I was really worried and hence decided to go to the Urgent O&G Clinic at KKH.

I took Grab down to KKH and was registered at the clinic. I was told to collect my urine sample and wait for my queue number to be called to see the doctor. It was a really long and traumatizing wait as other ladies were wheeled in, rushed into the emergency room etc. I was alone as hubs was stuck at work. Every second was torturing and I was constantly worried, uncertain if baby was alright.

Finally when my queue number was called, I entered the room to meet the doctor on duty. I wasnt registering anything that she was saying. Next moment she told me that she will check and do an ultrasound for me since I was only at week 7. She first inserted a clamp to open up and check my cervix. She said that I wasnt dilated and there wasnt any bleeding so it should be alright. Next, she decided to do a transvaginal ultrasound directly since that was the method that was used yesterday.

She showed me that baby was fine and after some tuning, she played a short clip of baby's heart beat!! 😍 Hearing the heart beating so steadily and strong made me instantly tear. The doctor showed me the heart beat pattern and said that it was strong and very rhythmic which is good!

Once the ultrasound was done, she mentioned that she will get the nurse to draw some blood from me to submit for progesterone testing, to check if my hormones are of normal levels. I was told to go home as the report will only be available in 2-3 hours time and if my progesterone levels were off, I would receive a call in which I have to go back another day to get medication. But if all is good, I would not receive any call. Its already almost 8:30pm, almost hitting the 3 hour mark and I have yet to receive any call. Praying that the blood test is fine too.... 🙏
